Kaori Sasaki

In 1987, before the concept of networking was widely known, Kaori Sasaki created a network of interpreters and translators with a database of both language skills and expertise, and established Unicul International Inc., an international communication consulting firm.

Currently, as a communication consulting company with 70 language capabilities, Unicul International provides high quality services to major global corporations and other clients for business meetings, speeches, presentations, press conferences, videos, websites, international conferences, and other media both in-person and online.

Ms. Sasaki is also the founder and chair of the International Women in Business Conference, the largest diversity conference in Japan, and the founder & CEO, ewoman Inc., a leading diversity consultancy. Through her work as a diversity expert to companies throughout Japan, she saw the need for a system to measure and reward companies for their diversity efforts. In 2018, she inaugurated the "Diversity Index", which measures the diversity of corporations for use in their business strategies. She is also chair of THE BOARD, Japan's female outside board network.

She is a best-selling author, a commentator who appears regularly in the Japanese media, and a sought-after speaker who has delivered over 2000 lectures on diversity management, time management, career development, and new methods of marketing to smart consumers in Japan and overseas, including OECD (Paris) and APEC (St. Petersburg) conferences and in North America.

Ms. Sasaki has served as an outside director for listed companies and other organizations and on over 20 high-level councils for the Ministries of Health, Labor and Welfare, of Education, of Law, of Economy, Trade and Industry, and of Information and Technology, including the Regulatory Reform Council of the Cabinet Office and the Equal Participation Council (appointed to both by the Prime Minister). She was a member of the W20 Steering Committee and an executive board member of the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020).
